Amazon.com who already owns Endless.com an online store focusing exclusively on shoes and accessories, has now purchased Zappos. Amazon will buy Zappos for $920 million in a stock deal. Zappos will receive approximately 10 million Amazon.com shares with an additional $40 million in cash and restricted stock units.The deal is expected to close in the fall of 2009. Zappos grossed over $800 million in merchandise sales in 2007, and is projecting over $1 billion in 2008.Read full post
