Shoe designer Ruthie Davis currently has her own exhibit in the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut. The exhibit is complete with 60 shoe designs, standing next to either their sketches, a glimpse e of the shoe’s production, or what inspired the design. The exhibit is entitled Ruthie Davis Shoes: Couture, Futuristic Design.
Here is a quote from Ruthie herself, “I went up early in the day in order to give a talk about GIRL POWER to about 75 girls from the local junior high schools, girls club, YWCA and a women’s shelter nearby. I gave them my Powerpoint presentation, which is really all about empowering women, feeling self confident, taking risks, participating in life, trying something new and of course – wearing fabulous shoes!”
We here at MissMeanShoe are anxious to see this exhibit and we thank Ruthie Davis for not thinking it robbery to enlighten and educate young girls and women. This exhibit will be on display until June 20, 2010.
