Designer Spotlight: Introducing Amica Style

Danielle Premone started Amica Style when she noticed a long-term trend in fashion: embellishment in everything. But too often, embellished details come with a large price tag. In today’s economy especially, only a lucky few can afford to indulge in this style. That did not seem right to her—you shouldn’t need to have money to be fashionable.

A self described accessory junkie, she feels  that you can wear a t- shirt and jeans but if you have a fabulous (necklace, earrings, ring, bracelets) that t-shirt is taken to a different level. She decided to make an accessory she had not really seen out there: something that can dress up any shoe, be it a boot, sandal, or heel. And wanted it to be affordable so that everyone can enjoy the current style. Her line has over the top pieces (large flowers, crosses) and some that are simple. Pieces that can enhance and fabulous girls outfit!

Q: So, Where did this idea of jewelry for shoes come from?

I am obsessed with accessories…….I do not follow the “less is more rule”.

For me, its “More is more”. I wanted a way to jazz up a pair of black short boots that  I had. I  wrapped a bunch of necklaces around one of  them. When I went out and everyone kept asking me “where did you get those boots”??? I got home and immediately the wheels started spinning!

Q:  What would you say has been the most difficult part of introducing Amica Style to the world?

Honestly, I haven’t found anything too difficult. I started this up about 5 months ago and I have been extremely fortunate in being able to get my product out there! For one, the response has been amazing so they really speak for themself! I also have many connections in entertainment/fashion and wonderful friends that have helped me to really go full force with this.

Q: How long have you been creating Amica Style? Are there other designers working with you?

I guess I answered part of this question in the last one. I have been working on this line for 5 months. I currently do all the designing myself. I get influences by watching people and roaming around in stores. When something sparks my attention it just starts to unravel from there. Some of the pieces I sit down and just start working, not knowing exactly what the outcome is. Basically, there is no method to my madness! LOL

Q: Are your designs only for footwear?

They are intended for footwear but you could definitely be creative and use them as a necklace or bracelet! For sure!

Q: Who’s wearing Amica Style right now, and what kind of response have you received so far?

I have had many amazing woman rock my pieces! All of my friends have one and they are all fabulous!

As far as celebrities, I have had Jaime Pressly, Melissa Joan Hart, Karina Smirnoff, Audrina Patridge, Tamala Jones, Mashonda, Alesha Renee, Tocarra, Angie Martinez, Kelly Osbourne and Ashley Jones wear my pieces out. I have been very blessed and all of these fabulous ladies own more than one!

Q: What’s your favorite piece out of the collection?

I love every piece ofcourse, but the one that’s the most like me is the Mashonda.

Q: Where can you purchase Amica Style?

As of now my website, www.amicastyle.com and Jane Doe/Jon Doe in Los Angeles. (Currently have other store in the works but not out yet.)

Q: What else can we expect from Amica Style in the future?

Expect A LOT! I am in love with fashion! I realize “style” comes easier for some than others. It is my honour to contribute to helping people find theirs!  Expect fabulous accessories! (Chunky bracelets, large cocktail rings). Everything FABULOUS!!
